Percy was the son of Eugene and Irene Hart. He was eleven years old. He loved farming and had his own garden. Percy always like to be around horses. His family often remarked that he was going to work his father's farm. Percy was one of 45 people (along with two of his sisters) killed when his school was bombed by a disgruntled employee. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital in Lansing. This bombing remains as the worst attack upon a school in the history of the United States.
