A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO M. RICHARDS FOR SPONSORING UNCLE REID'S MEMORIAL!

Thank you so much for visiting Uncle Reid. His life story is interesting and very sad. Your tributes help us to heal from his loss. Although it's been many years, it's difficult!

REID LATTA was the son of John E. Latta and Margaret Latta. He had two brothers, William and David O. Two sisters, Mayme and Sadie. He grew up in Harrison County, Iowa and moved to Omaha, Nebraska. His father was a laborer so the family moved between Nebraska and Iowa frequently.

Reid worked for the Railway Mail Service from 1900 until 1920 out of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska.

Reid L. Latta married Myrtle Rhodes on December 6, 1903 in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri by Justice of the Peace, Joseph Karnes.

Myrtle and Reid moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1922. He worked for the Kansas City Journal Post Newspaper and for the Kansas City Public Service.

Death Records and funeral home records list his death as suicide by handgun/firearms.
