Funeral services for Mildred Hillyard Kitowski, 80, of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of Marion were held May 26, 2001, at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Frank McCallum officiated. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Kitowski, a member of Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, died May 23, 2001 at Canterbury Place in Valparaiso.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Doppelfeld of Lafayette, Ind. and Janis Melton of Valparaiso; a sister, Edith Mae Rushing of Chicago; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Walter, Hubert, Earl, Herbert, Lawrence, and Ray Hillyard; and four sisters, Lola, Lurah, Ora, and Birthel Hillyard.
