The Democratic Party of Rockingham County lost a warm advocate and an able supporter yesterday in the person of Henry N. Beery, who died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Bowman at 2 o'clock in the afternoon from complication of diseases incident of old age.

He was born November 11, 1843 and lived most of his life in this county.

He was a son of the late Abram Beery.

For a number of years he was Commissioner of Revenue, and in early life was a prominent and successful farmer and was one of the best known men in the county.

Although he had been in declining health for the past two years, his condition became serious only a few weeks ago, and his death comes as a distinct shock to his many friends and relatives.

Mr. Beery's wife preceded him to the grave about five years ago.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. S.R. Bowman, with whom he made his home; S.E. Beery of this city, C.E. Beery, of Hagerstown, Md., W.H. Beery, of Pennsylvania and Mrs. C.E. Shore, Columbus, N.C.

Funeral services will be conducted from the home on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Bothwick, assisted by Dr. B.F. Wilson. Interment will be made in Dayton.
