Ambrotype image of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was in Pittsfield campaigning for Senate.
Jackson, probably made three glass plate images of Lincoln. One was given to Lincoln's close friend local attorney Daniel H. Gilmer. The second was given to Charles Lame another friend of Lincoln's. The third was probably kept by Jackson since he was producing large cabinet card reprints of the image in the late 1870s till his death.
1859-1860 Jackson is employed as an operator at the River's Gallery, owned by Thomas L. Rivers in Hannibal, Missouri
During the Civil War Calvin Jackson operated a photo studio in Barry, Illinois
By 1873 Jackson has expanded his gallery to also include books and music
1875 he opens Jackson & Jackson Book Store in Barry, Illinois
1878-1879 Jackson buys out Streeter's Photograph Gallery located at 105 N. Main Street, Hannibal, Missouri
1879 Calvin Jackson moves his family to Hannibal, Missouri
That same year he opens a studio on the northeast corner of the town square in Pittsfield, Illinois
1879-1888 operates photo studios in Hannibal and Pittsfield
November 7, 1888 Calvin Jackson dies of Lung disease at Hannibal, Missouri.
Funeral Services were held in his Hannibal studio. The body was then transported to Barry, Illinois on the Wabash Railroad.
Interment November 10, 1888 in the "Old" Barry Cemetery.
1900 Andrew Jackson dies in St Louis, Missouri
October 17, 1905 Nancy Jackson dies from acute dilation of the heart, complicated by chronic bronchitis.
October 19, 1905 Nancy Jackson is interred next to Calvin in the "Old" Barry Cemetery
