Known mostly by his middle name, Bobby was eight years old and in the third grade. He talked a great deal of becoming a doctor, or a garage mechanic like his dad, Frank. But his mother Gladys (Coles) says he talked more of becoming a singer or a musician. Bobby was an only child, and shortly after the bombing, his parents sold their business and moved to Grand Rapids to get away from the scene of the terrible disaster. Bobby was one of 46 who lost their lives in the worst attack upon a school in the history of the United States.
