They later moved to Bethel Township in McDonough County, Illinois. They lived there until Opal suffered a debilitating stroke and was placed in a Macomb Nursing Home. Nick sold their farm and moved into the Everly House ( retirement home ) in Macomb, Illinois to be closer to his wife.
