Oliver (Buck) Abernathy of E. Iron Belt Road, Cartersville, died Tuesday, February 26, 1991.
He was born January 15, 1928 in Bartow County, a son of the late Elihue and Nevada Howell Abernathy, was employed by Tom Akins Electric and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Cox Abernathy of Cartersville; two sons, Michael and Ronnie R. Abernathy; four grandchildren; three brothers, Odie, Melvin and DeWitt Abernathy, two sisters, Connie Sanford and Bonnie Waits, all of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Elihue Abernathy and Elder Jerry Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow in Old Macedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tom Akins, Derrick Cochran, Ronnie Abernathy, Gene Cantrell, Tommy Akins, and Ward Burrows.
