Graveside services with military honors for Lance Corporal Carl Allen Sr., age 62, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Greenleaf Cemetery with Pastor Joe Burkett officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday at Heartland Funeral Home. Mr. Allen passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at his home.

Carl was born on January 11, 1949 in Brownwood, Texas to Richard and Adell Lucas Allen. He attended Brownwood High School and the Christ Gospel Bible School in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He joined the United States Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1974. On April 3, 1971, he married Teresa Gentry in Jeffersonville. He had attended the "Wings as Eagles Church in Burkett, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Allen; sons, Carl Allen Jr. and wife Belinda, Chance Allen; father, Richard Allen; grandchildren, Allison, Adrianna and Hayden Allen; sister, Kathy Bond, and numerous nieces and nephews.



Preceded in death by his mother Adelle Allen, twin daughters Angela and Tammy Allen, sisters Edna Burson and Barbara Britton and by a cousin Rod Tyler.
