Mrs. Kerr died Sunday, August 10, 2008, in Lawton.

She was born December 26, 1911, in Nevada, Texas, at the Love Hotel to Walter W. and Myrtle (Graham) Dean. She grew up south of Temple, Oklahoma after the death of her father at the age of 8. At the age of 12, her mother married Roy Alexander and they moved to the Cookietown community where she attended school at Union Valley. She graduated from high school with the class of 1928. She attended Oklahoma A&M at Stillwater for one year. In 1929 she married W. B. (Bill) Kerr and they resided and farmed in the Cookietown area until they retired from farming and moved to Walters in 1978. Mrs. Kerr was active in the Walters First United Methodist Church serving on the church board, starting the church library and serving as the librarian for many years, teaching the Questors Sunday School Class and serving as teacher of the Susannah Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Cotton County Art Council, and served as the Chairperson of the Walters Deport Restoration. She was a watercolor artist and enjoyed working in her garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her step-father, and a brother, Joe Roy Alexander.
