Linda L. Bennett Flood, 70, of Vevay, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was born Oct. 19, 1940, in Markland, the daughter of William J. "Bill" and Vandora M. McClellan Bennett. She was raised near Markland amd attended Vevay High School. She was employed at the U.S. Shoe factory in Vevay for 10 years. She was also employed in security at the Belterra Casino Resort and Spa, retiring in April 2010 after 10 years of service. She had farmed for 45 years with her husband on the family farm on Markland Enterprise Pike. She was a member of Markland Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin G. Flood, whom she married Oct. 6, 1956; two sons, Danny Flood of Vevay and Mark Flood of Clarksburg, W.Va.; her mother, of Clarksburg, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

The funeral was at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial was in the Vevay Cemetery.
