"Carnesville Herald and Advance", dated Thursday January 24. 1929. A "Card of Thanks" after the passing of Mrs. Mary Emmaline Coker.

It is the occasion of sadness and sorrow such as the one through which we have just passed, that gives life and meaning to the words that, "A friend in need is a friend indeed."

For every flower that gave its sweet fragrance in an effort to alleviate our sorrow we are grateful. Every kind act, every sympathetic word and every generous thought though unuttered is appreciated and will ever be cherished by us.
