He was born November 10, 1939, in Hueysville, Kentucky, to Willie and Susan (Conley) Shepherd.
Surviving are his companion, Margaret Davis of Wolcottville; a daughter, Brenda S. (Douglas) Pettit of Middlebury; three stepsons, Gary (Mylene) Acker of Rome City, Mark Acker of LaGrange, and Warren Acker of Rome City; two grandchildren; one great grandson; five sisters, Madeline Patrick of Albion, Michigan, Mary (Johnny) Little of Topmost, Kentucky, Molly Crager of Martin, Kentucky, Sharon (Allen) Chaffins of Hueysville, Kentucky, and Wanda Hutchison of West Liberty, Kentucky; and two brothers, Max (Elva) Shepherd of Wolcottville and Marvin (Janet) Shepherd of Hueysville, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mable Shepherd and Marie Shepherd; and four brothers, Norman Shepherd, Jack Shepherd, Arthur Shepherd, and Calley Shepherd.
Funeral services will be held for Mitchell Shepherd on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 2 P.M. from the Salt Lick United Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Shepherd Cemetery at Salt Lick, Ky.
