From the records of Lamar #258 United Daughters of the Confederacy: Thomas Jefferson Wood served as Lt., Co. F, Chamber's Texas Battalion, CSA. Mrs. Mary Wood Ford states she was born 27 Jun 1887 in Lamar County and was granddaughter of Thomas J. Wood. There were two T. J. Wood in the county in 1860, one born 1818 and the other born about 1841. Considering her birth in 1887, it is more likely that she is the granddaughter of the T. J. Wood who was born in 1841 and the great granddaughter of the T. J. Wood buried in Antioch. The T. J. Wood born about 1841 is not found in the cemetery records. The Thomas J. Wood in Chamber's Battalion was 1st Lt., Co. D, no age stated, elected on 11 May 1864, on regimental return on Aug 1864.
