BUCKLEY, MARIE ELIZABETH (BASHOR), passed away October 30, 2007 after a long illness. Cherished wife of Edmond J. Buckley, Jr., (deceased) and beloved mother of Edmond J. Buck Buckley (Karon) and Bethany Marie Buckley Brown (Tom). Beloved sister of Myra Jane Bashor Page (Joe), of Cherokee Alabama. Devoted Memaw to Jillian Marie Brown and Brian Edmond Brown. Marie was Miami Native, lived in South Dade her entire life. Marie attended College at Duke University and the University of Miami. She retired from the USPS after 25 years of service to the Goulds Post Office. Prior to the USPS, Marie taught school at Redland Elementary. She was a member of Perrine Peters UMC, and Peace UMC, prior to the Spanish-only conversion. She was a member of the New Neighbors Social Club and enjoyed many luncheons and activities with her New Neighbors friends. Marie loved to travel, her favorite destination being Paris, France. She was an avid Bridge Player and talented China painter. She spent many happy afternoons painting china and playing bridge with treasured friends old and new from the Redland and Homestead, some of whom she had known since her days at Redland High School, where she was the Senior Class President of 1942. She will be missed by her many beloved friends in Cutler Ridge and South Dade who remember fondly the many afternoons and evenings they dined together and attended plays and operas. Services will be held Tuesday November 6, 2007 at Branam Funeral Home, 809 North Krome Avenue, Homestead, Florida, Viewing from 11:00am-1:00pm, Memorial Service At 1:00pm followed by processional to Palms Woodlawn Cemetery, 27100 Old Dixie Highway for brief graveside service and interment.
