Mary Walters Gyger, 91, of Coatesville, and formerly of Narberth, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Freedom Village at Brandywine in Coatesville.

She was the wife of Furman H. Gyger Jr. of Coatesville and the late Clifford G. Walters, who died June 5, 1985.
Before retiring, Mrs. Gyger was employed at Shipley School in Bryn Mawr in the guidance office. Earlier in life, she was employed by the U.S. government during World War II at the Anniston Ordinance Department in Anniston, Ala.

She was born in Clanton, Ala.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her children, Grady R. Walters and wife, Marcella, of Havertown, Clark L. Walters and wife, Kay, of Roswell, Ga., and Mary M. Bleakly and husband, James, of Hatfield; her stepdaughters, Katherine Spear and husband, John, of Landisville, and Nancy Brunner and husband, Ray, of Phoenixville; her sister, Louise Acker and husband, Dick, of Madison, Miss.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, C. Grant Walters and William C. Walters.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale.

Relatives and friends may call after noon.
Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
