Allan 'AJ' Joel Lossing was the son of Peter Solomon Lossing and Mary Louise Wilder.

On September 27, 1893, AJ married Hattie Ann Hughart. AJ and Hattie had children: Harry Frank, Mary Louise, Arthur Dewey, Allie Ruth, Myrtle Irene, Ernest Ray, Fay Allan, Elizabeth, Hattie Marie, Grace, and Shirley Mae. Allan and Hattie also had a daughter who was stillborn. Arthur Dewey was killed in action while serving with the United States Army during World War I.

After Hattie passed, AJ married Jessie Agnes Echols. AJ and Jessie had one child, a son, Joel.
