William Orr (husband) was born at the old homestead January 8, 1796, and died in 1875. He was a whig and republican. He also was a farmer and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church organized at West Newton.

His wife was Julia Ann Bowen, whose father died during her childhood near Fredericksburg,(Spotsylvannia),Va., where he owned a small plantation. She bore him nine children, four of whom are living:Harriet, James P., Andrew W. and Mary I.

Excerpted from the entry for A.W. Orr in "Biographical and Historical Cyclopedia of Westmoreland County Pennsylvania. John M. Gresham & Co. Samuel T. Wiley, published 1890." PAGE 309

In 1810 in Spotsylvania, the only land holder named Bowen in the census was Burkett Bowen in Fredricksburg Township. He did have a minor female on his census. He was constable of Fredricksburg in 1809, and died in 1812. A Jane Bowen administered his estate, presumably his wife. No further information is known at this time.
