Mrs. Helen Daniel, seventy-three years of age, died at her home in Alston at a late hour Sunday night. For years she had been in declining health, but not confined to bed until recently.
For years Mrs. Daniel had resided with her youngest son, Mr. J.M. Daniel at Alston. The family formerly lived in Mt. Vernon and later moved to Long Pond.
Mrs. Daniel is survived by three sons, J.F., P.H. and J.M. Daniel, and one daughter Mrs. irene Johnson, all residing in the lower part of the county. She was the daughter of Daniel McGregor, one of the pioneer citizens of this county, and her brother Mr. J.D. McGregor of Lumber City, is the last surviving member of this family.
Mrs. Daniel was originally a member of the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian church. Remains were interred in the McGregory cemetery, Mt. vernon Monday afternoon. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. F. Rauschenberg of Waycross.
Deceased was prominently connnected with a number of older families, enjoyed the friendship of a large circle of friends, and her going brings grief t a large number who appreciated her kindly manners and womanly virtues.
