Following her tragic death in Jacksonville Friday, Miss Carolyn Connell was buried in the Mt. Vernon cemetery Sunday afternoon. The funeral serice was held at a Jacksonville Baptist church Sunday morning.

Miss Connell was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Connell of Jacksonville and was killed by an automobile driven by an army officer. She with some other children, were waiting for a school bus. Smoke from a passing train seemed to have obscured the vision, as the children were seeking another location, and the unfortunate child stepped in front of the car. She lived only three hours after the accident.

Her mother, the former Girtie Fountain, is a daughter of Mrs. D.A. Fountain of Mt. Vernon and her parents are both natives of Montgomery County. They have resided in Jacksonville for about ten years.

Besides her parents, she is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Eldridge Connell of Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Heed of Port Necheses, Texas, Remer and Roy Connell, Mrs. Edith Truett, Mrs. James Truett, Mrs. Archie Ratliff and Jack and James Connell, all of Jacksonville.
