PETER L. "Larry" CAMPAGNA, JR., 80, died peacefully October 7, 2011 at Saint Francis Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Campagna was retired from the Memphis Fire Department. His second career volunteering at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital spanned more than 17 years and he also spent time volunteering at the F.B.I. Citizen's Academy, the Orpheum, and was a parishioner at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He and his wife enjoyed the time they shared square dancing. He was preceded in death, just recently, by his wife of 57 years, Anne Campagna; he was also preceded in death by his son, Steve Campagna; brother, Frank Campagna; and his parents, Pete and Kathleen Campagna. He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Reed of Collierville; one son, Ray Campagna (Tracy) of Kansas City, KS; four grandchildren, Paco (Amie) Reed, Dustin Reed, Shannon Campagna, and Matt Campagna; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of lifelong friends worldwide. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m Wednesday, October 12, with a Rosary starting at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 13, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
