Thomas William Greenwood died Tuesday, February 2, 1971 at Hot Lake, Oregon after a long illness.

Mr. Greenwood was born on June 7, 1889 at Beaver, Utah. His family moved to Wallowa in 1900 where they farmed for a number of years. Then later moved to Island City and on to Union.

Tom worked for many years in the logging business. During World War I he enlisted in the Army and served several years at Camp White at Medford, Oregon. After the service he returned to Union.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors included one brother, Kenneth Greenwood of Baker; sister, Elma Werst, Wallowa; and Hazel Sirrine, Salt Lake City, Utah; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers.

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 5, 1971 at the Union L.D.S. Church at 2 p.m. with Bishop William B. Baxter officiating. Mr. Greenwood lay in state at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel until 12 noon on Friday.
