Paul Augustine Obituary

Augustine, Paul E. Chelsea, MI Paul E. Augustine, age 74, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 in Weslaco, Texas. He was born on April 9, 1929 in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Chester and Hattie (Cabana) Augustine. He was a heavy machine operator for Local Union #324 in Detroit, and a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Boating, and Traveling. On May 17,1947 he married Bernice S. Klapatch in Ann Arbor and she survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Bonnie Jean (Peter) Mulliner of Ludington; brother, Donald Augustine of Walhalla, MI; sisters, Mary (Ellsworth) Gangwere and Janet (Larry) Goodman, both of Fountain, MI; three granddaughters, Rachel (Roger) Clark of Grand Rapids, Andrea (James) Kierst of Pinckney, and Lindsay Mulliner of Ludington; and three great- grandchildren, Rosemary Clark, Timothy Clark, and Madison, Kierst. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Augustine and his sister, Joyce Goff. Funeral services will be Thursday February 5, 2004 at 11 A.M. from St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea with the Rev. Dr. William Joseph Turner presiding. Burial will take place at St. Thomas Cemetery, Ann Arbor. Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Mary Bell Tower memorial fund. The family will receive friends at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, 901 North Main St, Chelsea on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. with rosary at 7:30. and at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
