Daughter of Charles Philip Lathrop and Nancy Elizabeth "Nannie" (Calbreath) Lathrop.

Obituary:

Bessie May Lathrop, daughter of Charles and Nancy Lathrop, was born at Clio, Iowa, March 16, 1886 and departed this life December 22, 1900. A father, mother, one sister and one brother survive her. Altho' frail in body she was rich in good works; her life was radiant with sunshine, her heart aglow with Heavenly love. She was a loving sister, a helpful and obedient daughter. She possessed a Christlike spirit and entered into rest with a bright hope. God Called her, she joyfully responded; Just before she fell asleep she said, "Oh, Mamma, I am going to Heaven. Jesus loves me." What a triumphant entrance into the Kingdom. The funeral service was conducted by J. W. Horne in the M. E. Church at Clio, December 23, 1900.
