History of Trumbull and Mahoning counties by Williams (H.Z.) & Bro., Cleveland, Ohio, Publication date 1882, page 354-7 has 5 generations of Hart history stemming from:

1. Honorable Simeon Hart & Sarah SLOPER, born Bristol, CT, moved Southington then abt 1774 to Burlington, CT.

2nd gen. was Bliss (born Bristol) & Sarah UPTON of Burlington, CT, who brought their branch of Hart's to Brookfield in 1823 after severe financial set backs. They were following relatives who had moved there in 1806, and became "pillars of the Presbyterian Church", both initially interred in The old burying ground in Brookfield. They buried Oliver Bliss and Robert Sloper at Burlington, CT and Experience BRONSON was married and stayed living there, their other children moved to Brookfield.

3rd gen. is mother Melisendra who married her cousin, Chauncey Hart (s/o of Ard Hart and Millicent ROBERTS) of Burlington, CT who also left that area to Vienna, OH 1825, same as her parents, living one hour apart until 1835 when Chauncey moved to Brookfield, OH.

4th gen is Wm E. of this memorial, born in Vienna, OH, according to above named history, living on his family farm until 1843, taught school for a time, employed as a clerk in his brother's store until 1852 when he began a mercantile business of his own in Newton Falls until 1866, being prosperous then moved to Cleveland. In the spring of 1868, he began a wholesale grocery partnership, Thompson, Hart & Co. until 1875 when he began to suffer ill health. 1880 census has him retired.

Wm married Rachel 1852, she born in Portage Co., OH, they had son Frank Wilbur and Clara A. All are together in 1870 census, 1880 only Clara is home with parents. her grave is yet to be found, married surname unknown.

5th gen. is Frank Wilbur who worked for his father's company until the 1882 publication of this history.
