ABINGDON - Clifford L. Hastings, 68, of 405 N. Austin Ave. died Friday, July 11, 2003, at the home of his sister in rural Doniphan, Mo. Born Nov. 5, 1934, near Doniphan to Hanford and Lois Hart Hastings, he married Georgia M. Cunningham on June 16, 1956, in Abingdon. She died Sept. 26, 1997. He also was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one brother. Surviving are one son, Randy of Abingdon; two daughters, Kathy Denny of Sterling and Jana Hastings of Galesburg; two brothers, Jack of Abingdon and Dwight of Doniphan; two sisters, Judy Dilbeck of rural Doniphan and Jan Crews of Abingdon; and three grandchildren. He was a supervisor in the pressroom at Maytag Corp. in Galesburg until retiring in 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hinchliff-PearsonWest Chapel in Abingdon, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hedding Grade School Library.
