ABINGDON - Charles Edward Calhoun Sr., 72, of 102 N. Austin died at 11:51 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at his home. Born April 28, 1931, in Greenbush to Charles and Minnie Tinkham Calhoun, he married Pearl Mehn in Astoria. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Dale of Canton, Charles Jr. and James, both of Abingdon; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He worked at the former Briggs Manufacturing Co. and last worked for Abingdon Salvage. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Abingdon Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Hunt will officiate. Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
