Sam lived such a long life that there was no family left that knew much about him. He and Nellie didn't have children and all his family and also Nellie's were gone when Sam died. Sadly there isn't any information about him except he was a farmer, his birth, death .
An interesting fact I have realized is Sam Fleming seen many changes in America during his lifetime , he was born in the aftermath of the Civil War 1861-1865,then came the Spanish American War in 1898 while still a young man ,WWI 1914-1918 while in his forties, then WWII, 1939-1945, the Korean War, 1950-1953, the Vietnam War, 1960-1975, and the Bay of Pigs Invasion in 1961, He died in 1961 and never knew the Vietnam war raged on for another fourteen years.

He also seen many wonderful things during his lifetime I am sure.Sam and Nellie always looked after Sam's brother Seal Fleming, he lived with them for years and died in 1932.
