Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Muscatine. The Rev. Michael Spangler will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine.
Pallbearers will be Marlin Daufeldt, Jeff Snyder, Brian Wood, John Ogilvie, Nathan Daufeldt and Eric Daufeldt.
Harold W. Ogilvie was born Dec. 25, 1905, in Muscatine, the son of Thomas H. and Gertrude (Fuhlman) Ogilvie. He married Jessamine "Jess" Pain on Oct. 18, 1927, in Davenport.
Mr. Ogilvie attended the University of Iowa where he was a member of the Old Gold Singers. He also was active in local Barbershop Quartets for many years. He was a member of the Iowa Presidents Club and First Presbyterian Church. He was a lifetime member of the following Masonic organizations: Iowa Lodge 2 AF & AM, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry 32 degree, Kaaba Temple Shrine, Mohassan, and the DeMolay Legion of Honor.
He also was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 304, Lutheran Homes Society, Muscatine County Museum and Fine Arts Association, and Kiwanis International-Muscatine Club where he was past District Lt. Governor of Kiwanis.
He served as past chairman of the Musser Trust, Muscatine, and was a member of the Great River Road Association and the Muscatine Bridge Commission during construction of the new bridge. He was a member of the Muscatine Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, 33 Club, the Geneva Golf and Country Club and was past president of the Iowa Senior Golf Association.
Mr. Ogilvie owned and operated Ogilvie's I and I from 1927 to 1957. He was a board member of First National Bank for 40 years. He also was a member of the Muscatine Development Corp., having served as executive director from 1958 to 1973.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Masonic Center.
Survivors include his daughter, Joyce Kemper and her husband, Paul, Muscatine; sons Thomas F. Ogilvie, Miami, Florida, and Harold W. "Nick" Ogilvie Jr. and his wife, Jane, Muscatine; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother Frank Ogilvie, Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jess in 1998, two sisters and one daughter, Nadine, who died in infancy.
