Mrs. Harold Houseman, 67, route
4, died at 8:40 a.m. Friday in
Muscatine General hospital. She
had been ill a long time.
Funeral services will be held at
2 p.m. Monday at the Ralph J.
Wittich funeral home. The Rev.
Leland Enke will officiate. Bur-
ial will be in Memorial Park
cemetery.
Mrs. Houseman, the former Effie
Bailey, was born Aug. 25, 1898,
in Missouri. Her parents were
James W. and Emma Hudson Bailey.
She had resided in this commun-
ity for about 50 years.
She was married to Mr. Houseman
May 22, 1923 in Muscatine. She
was a member of Spangler chapel
of the Methodist church, the
Women's Society for Christian
Service, Bloomington grange
and the farm bureau.
Surviving are her husband;
three sons, Ray, route 1,
Moscow, Cecil, Muscatine and
Gary, route 4; five brothers,
Ross Bailey, Edina, Mo., Oren
Bailey, Winnegan, Mo., Vernie
Bailey, Green City, Mo., Vir-
gil Bailey, Floris, Iowa, and
Homer Bailey, Muscatine; four
sisters, Mrs. Earl Hall,
Novienger, Mo., Mrs. Arthur
Ziegler, Mexico, Mo., Mrs.
George Wallace, Novienger,
and Mrs. May Sparks, Kirks-
ville, Mo., and six grand-
children.
Her parents and a brother
are dead.
