GEORGE P BILLINGS DIES OF HEART ATTACK
Plainfield, June 26 - George Parsons Billings, 71, former selectman and school committee member, died suddenly this afternoon of a heart attack at Waubam farm, Ashfield, where he was employed.
Born at Worcester, he was the son of George W and Mary (Cone) Billings. He lived at South Hadley Falls and Cummiington before moving to Plainfield with his parents about 56 years ago. In 1897 he married Mary E Winslow of Plainfield, who survives him. He also leaves a son Reginald W Billings, two sisters, Mrs Alice Cole of Plainfield, Mrs Lucy Bitgood of Agawam, three brothers Ezra Billings of Plainfield, Herbert Billings of Concord, N.H., and Raymond Billings of Bristol, Ct. The funeral will be held at the home in Plainfield Sunday afternoon at 2, Rev. Howard Gould of Colrain, officiating, assisted by Rev. George Hawkes of Plainfield. Burial will be in Hilltop cemetery, Plainfield. Mr Billings was a member of Plainfield Congregational church.
