Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Lott Herron, 74, of 444 Elm St., Bamberg, will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, in Cooner Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Clyde Bearden officiating. Burial to follow in South End Cemetery in Bamberg.
Mrs. Herron died Sunday, Aug. 16, at home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Margie Lott Herron was born April 26, 1935, in Bamberg, to the late Frank Lott Sr. and the late Sarah Lottie Bunch Lott. She was affiliated with Word of Life Pentacostal Holiness Church, Bamberg. Mrs. Herron retired as a nurse's aide after 30 years from the Bamberg County Hospital.
She loved helping anyone who couldn't help themselves. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter, eating out, and listening to Gospel music and going to Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Beth Herron and husband Randy Dyches; two sons, Marty and wife Louann Herron, and Robin and wife Bunny Herron; grandchildren, Krystal Herron (Jamie Bearden), Ashley Herron (Johnny Carson), Olivia Herron (Chris Hunnicut), and Trisha and Corey Best; great-grandchildren, Kayln and Jamie Lee Bearden, Alaysia and Alyssa Carson, Sarah and Nicholas Black Jr.; special friend of the family, Wendy Bonham.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Cooner Funeral Home Chapel.
