He was a son to Albert H. and Anna (Barlage) Barhorst. On Nov 26, 1949, he married Martha Bornhorst, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Lynda Barhorst, Hudson, FL, Deb (Kevin) Ranly, Sidney; two brothers, Carl (Eileen) and Ernie (Joann), both Fort Loramie; three sisters, Alma Mangen, New Bremen, Norma Koverman, Van Wert and Joann Vondenhuevel, Minster; sister-in-law, Dorothy Quinlin, Fort Loramie; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Harold Barhorst; and six in-laws, Orville Mangen, LeRoy Koverman, Vern Vondenhuevel, Jim Quinlin, Don Bornhorst and Pat Bornhorst.
A member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, he was a member of Minster VFW Post, Minster American Legion Post and the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club. He was retired from Sidney Tool and Die where he had been a tool/die inspector for many years. He and his late wife owned and operated the former Home Service Cleaners, Minster. He served with the U. S. Navy during World War II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, with the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating.
