MERCHANT HERE FOR 30 YEARS, PASSES

Mr Frank H Bowden, well known Athens merchant, died at the home, 595 Pulaski street early Sunday morning after an illness of about three months. He was 52 years of age and for 30 years had conducted a mechandise business here. He had lived in Athens for about thirty years and possessed a large number of friends and is survived by a large family and many relatives. He was a native of Green county. Mr Bowden wa s member of the Oconee Methodist church. Funeral services will be conducted from the First Methodist church Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock by Rev W P King, assisted by Rev George Stone, Rev Walter Millican and Rev R R Grubb of the Christian church. Interment will be in Oconee Hill cemetary with Bernstein Bros Funeral Directors in charge.
Surviving Mr Bowden are: Wife, Mrs Lula Collins Bowden; Mother Mrs C C Bowden. Eleven childen namely, Lee C Bowden, Roy L Bowden, Mrs Carl Balir, Guy O Bowden, Josie Frank Bowden, Tom H Bowden, Elizabeth Mae Bowden, Helen C Bowden, Cornella C Bowden, Sid C Bowden and Jane A Bowden; one grandchild, Lee Bowden, Jr., three brothers, H L Bowden, John G Bowden and R I Bowden.
