Born November 5, 1907 in Newark, Ark., she is the daughter of the late Napoleon Bonaparte and Mary Myrtle Clark Lane.
In 1924, in Newark, Ark., she was united in marriage to Charley Stevens, who preceded her in death on May 3, 1966.
Survivors include three sons, James Stevens of St. Louis, Mo., Lee Stevens of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Tommy Stevens of St. Peters, Mo.; three daughters, Myrtle Tyler of St. Peters, Pat Thornton of Florissant, Mo. and Nina Watkins of O'Fallon, Mo.; one adopted daughter, Lorraine Dodson of St. Louis, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two brothers, Wilson Lane of Cheyenne, Wy. and Tommy Lane of Phoenix, Arizona and one sister, Montine Shaw of Burbank, California.
She is preceded in death by three children, Ed Stevens, Charles Stevens and Lorine Stevens; two brothers, Edward Lane and Lacey Lane and one great granddaughter, Michelle Cate.
Funeral services were held May 13 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Hayti, Mo. with Brother Donnie Hutchison officiating.
Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
