Bertie was the daughter of Hyrum Franklin and Mary Belle (Lowe) Chambers and the wife of Sanford Riley Joyce, and later Ernest Blackburn.

Mrs. Blackburn Dies Here; Was Trigg Native

Mrs. Bertie Blackburn, 69, wife of Ernest Blackburn, 204 Louisiana St., died 1:50 am Sunday at Western Baptist Hospital,
A native of Trigg County, Mrs. Blackburn had been a resident of Paducah since 1943. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints.
Besides her husband, surviving are three sons, Hubert Joyce of Ashland, and D. F. Joyce and Vick Joyce, both of Paducah Rt 8; three daughters, Mrs. Lorene Brown, Mrs. Naomi Copeland and Mrs. Nina Sumner, all of Paducah; a stepson, Frank Blackburn of Las Vegas, NV; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Louise Miller of Taylorville, IL, and Mrs. Morine Russo and Mrs. Jean LeSure, both of Springfield, IL; four brothers, Wakefield Chambers of Detriot, MI, Jim Chambers of Evansville, IN, Wesley Chambers of San Bernadino, CA and Charlie Chambers of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah McCurrie of Paducah, Mrs. Florence Mynor of Moskogee, OK and Mrs. Geneva Dunn of Murray; 42 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at Lindsey Funeral Chaplel with Chester Hall, Jr. and Robert Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery in Trigg County. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
