Edward Joseph "Eddie" Dunn, of Columbia, died Feb 25, 2008 at Parkside Manor in Columbia.
He was born in Mora, MO. Jun 9, 1920, the son of Joseph Thomas and Anna Brosch Dunn.
He attended Prairie Flower School, west of Mora. He moved to Sedalia in the 1930's to work at the Missouri Pacific Shops. During World War II, he moved to Kansas City to work in the Aircraft industry. After the war he moved back to Sedalia and opened his own shop, Dunn's Welding and Steel Supply Co, which he operated for over 50 years. He did many custom steel fabrication projects for his customers. Taking care of his shop and his customers was his life's work.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he took an active role in maintenance work at both the church and Sacred Heart School.
In 2007 he moved to Columbia to be near his sister and niece.
Surviving is one sister; Bernadine Anderson of Columbia; three nieces; Dorothy Clark and her husband Larry Joe Clark of Columbia, Margaret Whaley of Olympia, WA and Sandy Gabriella of Hawaii. Also surviving are four great nieces; Brigitte Mineo, Elizabeth Wolf, Kim Arell, and Courtney Caiola; and two great nephews; Michael Clark and Sean Clark.
He was predeceased by two brothers; Paul and Ralph Dunn; and one niece Marie Ellis.
Pallbearers were Larry Joe Clark, Eric Wolf, Sean Clark, Michael Clark, and George Johnson.
