OBIT: Mabel Iola Larson, age 92, of Osseo died Sunday, November 10, 1991 at the Osseo Area Nursing Home. Mabel, the daughter of Albert and Sena (Sneve) Larson, was born March 22, 1899 in the Town of Garfield, Jackson Co. She graduated from Augusta High School, received her teaching certificate from Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis and furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Mabel taught in several Osseo rural schools, Colfax, Bloomer, and Blair. She was the Superintendent of the Osseo Lutheran Church Sunday School for over 20 years, and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and belonged to a church circle. She also sang in the Ladies Chorus for many years. She is survived by seven nieces and nephews, Kathleen (Paul) Seider, Shadow Hills, CA, Royce Lewis, Eugene, Or, Eleanore Bishop, Caledonia, MN, Grace Belsaas, Golden Valley, MN, Gloria Ruth (John) Sawchak, Brooklyn Center, MN, Robert Larson, Racine, Rachel King, Racine; seven cousins, Gladys Person, Osseo, Leonard Person, Eau Claire, Marie Lund, Pepin, Marie Hulberg, Mibank, S.D., Arnold Larson, San Antonio, TX, Alice Person, Osseo, Matra Sundet, Brookings, S.D.; several grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Herbert and Marvin and one sister, Eleanore Lewis. Services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Benrud officiating. Burial was in Osseo Cemetery.
