Taylor, Lt. William K., age 25, of 2109 Russet Ave., died June 5, 1971 in action north of DaNang. Survived by his wife Janet L. (Gaeke); his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Taylor; daughter, Julie M.; a son, John M.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Curt (Margaret Ann) Stenny, of Acton, Mass., Miss Mary Ellen, Miss Michele Marie, and Miss Lisa Marie Taylor; 3 brothers, George A. Jr., Michael A., Mark G. Taylor, all of Dayton; grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Taylor, of Hamilton. Funeral services Wednesday 10:30 a.m. Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. with Mass of Resurrection 11 a.m. at St. Helen's Church. Burial Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Glenmary Home Missioners, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Bill was a First Lt. and the Executive for the 108 Artillery. He did all the administrative paperwork for the unit. He was highly respected, known as a straight shooter, moral and fair. At the time of his death, he had volunteered as a forward observer, for a mission with the 101 Airborne. He was detected and killed by a rifle shot to the head.He died June 3, 1971.
