Ann was the daughter of Herman and Nadine Jackson. She was the younger of two siblings.
Born in Oklahoma, Ann moved to Abilene, Texas as a child. She was a graduate of Abilene High School. While living in Abilene she married Ronald Backschies. The marriage was blessed with three children, Dave, Kari and Dennis.
In 1993 the Backschies moved to Sherman, Texas where she worked as office manager and certified optician for Texas State Optical. She was a member of the University Baptist Church in Abilene.
Upon her death she was survived by her husband, three children, four grandchildren, her mother and her sister Christine.
