Terminating an extended illness and consequent suffering, death came to Mrs. H.H. McAllister at her home in the Long Pond section Saturday afternoon last.
Mrs. McAllister was a patient and hopeful sufferer, while every effort was made to stay the disease responsible for her death. She is survived by her husband and a number of children: Mrs. S.M. Bush of Savannah, Mrs. R.N. Edwards of Long Pond, Mrs. Jesse Goff of Long Pond and Mrs. A.W. Bendamire of Uvalda; G.C. McAllister of Long Pond, Robert Lee, Duncan and Wilbert McAllister and Misses Lucile and Lillie Joe McAllister of the home circle.
She is the daughter of the late G.W. Adams, prominent citizen of Montgomery county. Her brothers are George L., of Atlanta; J.L. of decatur; John C., of Savannah, and Sam Adams, of Claxton. The remaining sister of this once large family is Mrs. J.A. Powell of Brunswick.
For weeks members of the family have remained at the bedside of a faithful wife, mother and sister, administering aid and hoping for the return of the hours of relief, but to no avail.
Remains were interred in the McAllister cemetery near Long Pond Sunday afternoon, attended by a consourse of freinds and relatives. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church, three o'clock, by Rev. L.W. Walker, of which Mrs. McAllister was a member.
A member of one of the oldest and best known families of Montgomery county, Mrs. McAllister leaves a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn her departure. She went away steadfast in the assurance of an endless life in a Land without gain, or sorrow, or disappointment, and where soul, clothed in a new body, rests forever.
