Frances A. Whitener, 96, of Little Rock died Thursday, March 29, 2001. She was born in Carthage, AR, one of thirteen children born to Walter and Mary Frances Williams. She was married to Robert Whitener who preceded her in death. Mrs. Whitener was a member of the Crystal Hill Baptist Church and loved the out-of-doors, especially hunting.

She is survived by two grandsons, Robert Elliott, of Nashville, TN and John Whitener and his wife Kristen of Little Rock and one great-granddaughter, Kaycie Whitener, one son-in-law Raymond Adams of Augusta, GA, a daughter-in-law, Brenda Whitener of Little Rock , two step-granddaughters, Kelly Mayhue of Ft. Smith and Carla Sanders of Rogers and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by two daughters, Fran Adams and Margie Elliott and a son, Russ Whitener.

A visitation will be held from 5-7p.m. Friday at the Ruebel Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at the Ruebel Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, officiated by Rev. Larry Ballard. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to "Our Vision" c/o Crystal Hill Baptist Church, 18823 Crystal Valley Rd. Little Rock, 72210. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home
