Husband of Corintha Wilcox Alden.
OBIT From Fredonia Censor.. Old settler died of apoplexy
he Lily Dale Sunflower in 1902 said of the Aldens and their contributions to the founding of Lily Dale "Kindly thoughts are awakened by the sound of their names."
Without Willard Alden and Jeremiah Carter there would be no Lily Dale as we know it today. It was the conversation of these two that began the camp. Willard very kindly offered the use of his grove and grounds as a meeting place for the first camp meeting of the Spiritualist community.
Willard and Corintha Alden's names aren't on their headstones, they are only identified here as "Father " and "Mother". This is regrettable, in that one might walk right past them and not realize they are there. Without Willard and his wife Corintha, and their friend Jeremiah Carter there would be no such thing today as Lily Dale NY. The efforts and cooperation of these 3 led to everything today.
