Mr. Gooden was a native of Selma, Ala., and was a 1968 graduate of Gulfport High School. He served in the Navy Reserves, was a truck driver for Gulf States Ready Mix, and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Lenora Gooden; two sons, Danny Gooden and Duane Gooden; and two sisters, Ruth Oliver and Louise Wyatt.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North in Gulfport. A service will be at 10 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel with burial in Wolf River Cemetery.
