Michael Bruce Cowsert, 41, of Harrisburg, Illinois died on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the Hardin County General Hospital, Rosiclare, Illinois.

Michael was born on June 27, 1961, at the Hardin County General Hospital, the youngest child of Bruce and Myrna Potts Cowsert.

Michael spent his childhood on the family farm at R.R. Elizabethtown. He attended Stone Church Grade School and graduated from Hardin County High. Michael loved music, sports, and his automobiles. Michael worked construction in Seattle, Washington, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Harrisburg, Illinois. He was working for Ingram Barge Lines when he was diagnosed with cancer that incapacitated him. Michael was disabled at the time of his death. Michael had a quick wit and had a unique sense of humor which helped him through years of sickness and pain. Michael will be sadly missed by all who loved him and laughed with him.

Michael was a member of the First Apostolic Church, Rosiclare, Illinois and was baptized on December 25, 1988. Michael was loved and appreciated by his Church family. His faith in the Lord Jesus sustained him through his darkest hours on into eternal rest. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Bruce, in 1988 and his brother Steven, in 1995.

He is survived by his mother, Myrna Cowsert of Elizabethtown, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. James (Randi) Holbrook of Dixon Springs, Illinois and Mrs. Mark (Cindy) Lewis of Elizabethtown, Illinois; paternal grandmother, Meredith Cowsert, Rosiclare Health Care; one niece, Keri Cox of Rosiclare; three nephews, Brian Holbrook of Harrisburg, Illinois, Tyler Cowsert and Travis Cowsert of R.R. 1, Elizabethtown, Illinois; one great nephew, Zane Smith of Rosiclare, Illinois and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. Michael will be laid to rest near his father and brother in the Cowsert Cemetery.
