She was the widow of LeRoy John Hunt, Sr. who died in 1993. Delivered by her father on September 10, 1932 in the family farm house in Greeley County, Nebraska, she was one of the 11 children of the late Joseph Aloysius and Ida Elizabeth (Nestor) Kinney. In the spring of 1936 the family moved to Missoula, Montana where Joan received her education. She met her husband while he was stationed at Fort Missoula. They were married on April 3, 1947. In 1964 they moved east to be near LeRoy's family and Joan has lived in the area ever since. Joan worked many years at Asgrow Seed Co. in Cambridge. She also worked as a cook/bartender at Barbecue Recreation Center in Hoosick Falls, The Top Hat Restaurant, The Three Way Restaurant and most recently, at The Eagles in Hoosick Falls. She enjoyed crocheting and plastic canvas-never keeping anything for herself, giving everything away. She was an avid collector cookbooks, chickens and roosters, coins and anything that struck her fancy. She was extremely interested in genealogy and finding out about the family tree. She was also an avid bird watcher, lover of animals and a die-hard New York Yankees fan. Joan, Mom, Nanny and Annie-as she was known to her family- had a tremendous capacity for love. She loved each and every member of her family. She was always there when anyone needed a helping hand. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan R. Her absence will leave a hole that will not be filled. The family would like to acknowledge all those who made her last days as comfortable as possible including the staff at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington and Dr. Sherman at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
