Charles Porter Funeral Today

Funeral services for Charles B. Porter were at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, August 31 a First Baptist Church with Revs. A.R. Bilberry and Bill Merritt officiating.

Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Porter was born June 23, 1893 in Jack County and died Wednesday at Jack County Hospital.

On March 13, 1915 he married Ora Fowler.

He had been bookkeeper for Henderson Equipment Co., was a mail carrier and grocer.

Survivors are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Bob Welch, Bowie; 2 sons, Carroll and Dr. Lawrence of Sacramento, Calif., 7 sisters; Mmes. Alpha Smith, Mollie Black, Frankie Scott, Niecia Riggs, Agnes Leatherwood all of Jacksboro; Mrs. Aubrey Riggs, Vernon, Mrs. Willie Haynie, Amarillo... a brother, George of Jacksboro, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
