George E. Maxwell was born Wednesday 25 Feb 1885, near Iowa City, a son of Thomas Franklin and Johanna Wolter Maxwell. He married 11 Sep 1907 to Mary Edna (Mamie) Bishop. He was a farmer and tiler for many years and later worked at the Farmer's Feed Mill in Kalona and as a night marshall in that town.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roland and Harold of Kalona, and five daughters, Mrs. Willard Hole of West Chester, Mrs. Ray Sommers of Klamath Falls, Ore., Mrs. Stephen Carris of Fort Collins, Colo,. Mrs. Faye Boone and Mrs. Joe Fisher of Kalona. (Washington, Iowa Evening Journal)
