OBITUARY: The News-Star, Monroe LA, 26 Aug 1960
Columbia (Special) - Last rites for Mrs. Josephine Fluitt, 90, were set for 3 p.m. today. Mrs. Fluitt died Thursday in a Columbia rest home following a long illness. Dr. W. M. Causey will officiate at services at Old Hebron Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hickory Springs Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. R. A. Thigpen, Sikes, Mrs. J. P. Griggs, Chatham, Mrs. Pennie Griggs, Shreveport, and Mrs. Joe Plummer, Haughton; two sons, R. W. Fluitt, Hanesville, and Morgan Fluitt, Grayson; one half-brother, J. B. May, Chatham, 21 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
