It was their home purchased in 1859 from Dr Robert Watkins, Oakwood Plantation on Nineth street, east from Saint Johns' College of Arkansas (converted to a hospital during Civil war), that General Sterling Price (former Missouri governor) choose during Civil War as his headquarters before General Frederick Steele occupied Little Rock September 1863.
Her daughter, Fannie Ashley Hanger(1859-1873), is noted as whose home Carl Raymond Gray would stay, page 218 in his mother's diary of him as on file at Special Collections, University of Arkansas, MC 1618.
